In the process of laser cutting, when pollutants fall on the surface of the lens, they will absorb energy from the laser beam, resulting in thermal lens effect. If the lens has not formed thermal stress, the operator can disassemble it and clean it.
In the process of cleaning lenses, the method with relatively small risk should be adopted. In order to minimize risks, the following operation steps are sorted out:
1. First, use an air ball to blow away the floating objects on the surface of the components, especially the lenses with small particles and flocs on the surface. This step is necessary, but never use the compressed air on the production line, because these air will contain oil and water droplets, which will deepen the pollution of the lenses.
2. The second step is to slightly clean the lens with acetone. This level of acetone is almost anhydrous, which reduces the possibility of lens contamination. When cotton balls are dipped in acetone, the lenses must be cleaned under light and moved in circles. Once the cotton swab is dirty, it must be replaced. The cleaning should be completed at one time to avoid wave reinforcement. (if the lens has two coated surfaces, such as the lens, each side needs to be cleaned in this way. The first side needs to be placed on a layer of clean lens paper for protection.)
3. If acetone can't remove all the dirt, then clean it with sour vinegar. Acid and vinegar cleaning uses the dissolution of dirt to clean dirt, but will not cause damage to optical lenses. This kind of acetic acid can be experimental grade (diluted to 50% strength), or white vinegar with 6% acetic acid for household use. The cleaning procedure is the same as acetone cleaning, and then acetone is used to remove the acid and vinegar and dry the lens. At this time, cotton balls should be changed frequently to absorb the acid and hydrate. Until it is cleaned.
4. When pollutants and lens damage cannot be removed by cleaning, especially the film burning caused by metal splash and dirt, the only way to restore good performance is to replace the lens. Try to wear gloves or finger cots when replacing lenses to prevent contamination of lenses.
Precautions: in the installation process, if the method is not correct, the lens will be polluted, so the operating procedures mentioned above must also be observed. When the lens is cleaned and operated correctly, its service life and performance will undoubtedly be significantly improved. This is also one of the important ways for the service life and stability of the laser cutting machine. Taking some preventive and maintenance measures will ensure that the laser cutting machine will work longer and have higher stability.
