Laser cutting machine is suitable for cutting and processing of various materials. It has different cutting methods for different metal materials, and better cutting effect can be obtained by using corresponding parameters. Now let's take you to know what Dongguan laser cutting machine should pay attention to when cutting different materials?
1. Structural steel
Structural steel is mostly carbon steel, which is suitable for cutting with oxygen. When oxygen is used as the processing gas, the cutting edge will be slightly oxidized. Take 6000W power cutting as an example. For plates with a thickness of less than 10mm, nitrogen can be used for high-pressure cutting. The cut section will not have oxidation, and the surface will be very smooth. When cutting plates with a thickness of more than 16mm, oxygen cutting can increase the heat in the cutting area, speed up the cutting speed and improve the production efficiency.
2. Stainless steel
Generally, oxygen and nitrogen are used for cutting stainless steel. When the edge oxidation has an impact on the next process, nitrogen can be used to obtain an edge without oxidation and burr, which can be used without subsequent treatment. Coating oil film on the surface of the plate will get better perforation effect without reducing the processing quality.
3. Aluminium
Despite high reflectivity and thermal conductivity, the thickness of cut aluminum depends on the alloy type and laser capability. When cutting with oxygen, the cutting surface is rough and hard. When nitrogen is used, the cutting surface is smooth. Pure aluminum is very difficult to cut because of its high purity. Generally, only optical components with anti reflection ability will be used for cutting, otherwise reflection will destroy optical components.
4. Titanium
Titanium plates are cut with argon and nitrogen as processing gases. Refer to carbon steel for parameters.
5. Copper and brass
Both materials have high reflectivity and excellent thermal conductivity. Brass with thickness less than 6mm can be cut with nitrogen; Copper with a thickness of less than 12mm can be cut, and oxygen must be used for processing gas. Generally, only optical components with anti reflection ability will be used for cutting, otherwise reflection will destroy the optical components.
