What are the precautions for laser cutting machine in cutting thick plate

The use and function of laser cutting machine is mature, but this laser cutting machine will have some difficulties in cutting. We must pay attention to this when using it. With the rapid development of power fiber laser production technology and the continuous improvement of the level of CNC processing technology, in recent years the application of fiber laser processing equipment in plate laser cutting has developed rapidly. According to market feedback and plate thickness, cutting quality and cutting equipment sales price, sheet metal processing production of the market application group segmentation, especially the thickness range of the cutting plate. Small and medium-sized enterprises in this field, there is an urgent need to reduce the cost and quality of the metal laser cutting machine supporting processing equipment!

Difficulty in cutting thick plates with a metal laser cutter - the cut is too narrow, resulting in increased heat loss. Reduced laser cutting rate promotes thermal damage in the laser cutting area. The key method of heat damage is heat transfer. The thicker the thickness, the greater the thermal damage and the lower the laser cutting rate. Although the laser penetrates the slab and a large amount of slag adheres to the bottom, material removal at the bottom of the kerf becomes inconsistent. Slag formation is due to the low average cutting temperature at the bottom of the slit and the low temperature is also due to the high energy loss. In this case, the cut quality is usually not high - the fiber laser spot diameter is small and the depth of focus is limited. Although fiber lasers can maintain high laser power densities at the depth of cut when cutting sheet metal, the thin cutting slit due to the small beam diameter is detrimental to cutting slag. This places greater demands on the fiber laser's mode, beam dispersion, collimation, shaping and range, and creates additional difficulties in the processing quality of fiber laser cut metal sheets - auxiliary steam quality and standard pressure. Efficacy and damage. Oxygen, for example, plays a very important role in laser cutting of thick carbon steel plates. The laser beam is incident on the surface of the workpiece to create small holes. As the laser beam moves in the cutting direction, an oxidized melt exists around the holes and slits. The purity and pressure of the oxygen have a major impact on laser cutting. Oxygen with many impurities and improper gas pressure does not provide enough energy to form a high-flow melt at the bottom of the slit, which reduces cut quality and cutting speed. By measuring the quality and pressure of the auxiliary gas at different kerf positions, it has been found that the narrower the kerf, the less effective the auxiliary gas and the more difficult it is to maintain cut quality, thus ensuring proper kerf width, auxiliary gas quality and gas pressure control. The effect on cut quality is significant - differences in geometry can look like a reduction in the quality of the laser cut bend. As the fiber laser cuts thick steel plates, the angle of inclination of the melt front becomes more pronounced, which reduces the absorption coefficient of the laser light in the raw material, thus ensuring laser cut quality and laser cut rate according to the laser cutting output power.
