laser cutting machine

There are two main types of laser cutting machine, a fibre laser cutting machine dedicated to cutting metals and a carbon dioxide laser cutting machine dedicated to cutting non-metallic materials. We occasionally hear enquiries from customers as to whether there are laser machines that can cut both metals and non-metals. The answer is yes. In the past, there was a machine that was very popular in the market. It could cut both metals and non-metals at the same time and was called a hybrid cutting machine. However, after long term use and testing, it was slowly and gradually phased out of the market due to its very unstable and high failure rate.

Of course, there may be manufacturers in the market who still make this equipment, but we at Lyser Laser do not produce this equipment at the moment. In fact, the laser machine that can cut metals and non-metals is called a UV picosecond laser cutting machine. This machine uses a UV picosecond laser and has a high cutting accuracy, but is limited to being suitable for cutting only thin materials, fractions of a millimetre of metal and non-metallic materials. Therefore, it has certain restrictions on its use and is generally widely used in medical, electronic and other industries that require precision cutting.

Laser cutting of metal materials The maximum power we currently produce can cut sheet metal up to 20 mm. Of course, larger laser power can cut thicker metal materials, but considering the performance and usage, we only produce 6000W power metal laser cutting machine. Laser cutting of non-metallic materials Currently, our conventional maximum power is 300W, which can be used to cut fabric, paper products, plastic, rubber and other materials. Acrylic can be cut up to a maximum of 20mm and plastic rubber up to 10mm. One of the characteristics of laser cutting is single-layer cutting, the laser belongs to the thermal cutting, such as multi-layer cutting edges tend to stick together, affecting the cutting effect. These are some of the characteristics of laser cutting machines when cutting materials.
