As an important production tool, laser cutting machines require regular maintenance to improve their service life and maintain good cutting efficiency. As temperatures across the country gradually decrease, the daily antifreeze work of laser cutting machines needs to be put back on the agenda.
temperature
1. It is best to install air conditioning or other heating equipment in the equipment operation site to maintain the ambient temperature at 20 degrees Celsius. If there is absolutely no power outage in the local area, the water cooler should not be turned off at night. At the same time, in order to save energy, the temperature of low and normal temperature water should be adjusted to 5-10 ℃ to ensure that the cooling water is in a circulating state and the temperature is not lower than the freezing point.
2. Although the temperature does not have a significant impact on the laser cutting machine, due to many users adding butter to the screw, they will definitely forget to clean it in winter, resulting in the inability to move every time the machine is turned on. Just like the winter in the north is very cold, the temperature in the studio will be very low, and even with oil added, the machine will still not move. At this point, we need to ensure that the temperature in the workplace reaches the minimum temperature required for refueling.
cooling water
1. For continuous operation of cold water chillers, water generally does not freeze when flowing.
2. Due to the need for regular replacement of cooling water in summer to avoid exceeding the specified temperature, many users may overlook this in cold winter, believing that the water temperature will not increase much during cold weather. So many users often forget to change the water, especially in winter, because the outside temperature is very low, it is difficult to feel the heating of the spindle motor. So we particularly remind users that cooling water is a necessary condition for the normal operation of the spindle motor. If the cooling water is too dirty, it can cause serious damage to the motor, ensuring the cleanliness of the cooling water and the normal operation of the water pump.
3. If the light laser equipment is not used for a long time or in the case of power failure, the water in the cold water tank, filter and pipeline must be drained.
Attention: All cooling water inside the laser, cutting head, lens, and water-cooled machine must be drained thoroughly to effectively protect the entire water-cooled pipeline and related components!
Antifreeze
When the operating environment frequently experiences power outages and does not have the conditions for daily coolant evacuation, antifreeze must be used. The basic solution of antifreeze is generally composed of enzymes and water, requiring high boiling and flash points, high specific heat and conductivity, low low-temperature viscosity, less foaming, and no corrosion of metal parts, rubber hoses, etc. When selecting or mixing antifreeze, its freezing point should be 5 ℃ lower than the minimum temperature of the usage environment.
1. Using ethanol for short-term antifreeze:
If there is a power outage and the cooling water cannot be drained, temporary short-term antifreeze measures are required. Ethanol (alcohol) can be added to deionized or purified water, with an amount not exceeding 40% of the tank volume. Ethanol has strong corrosiveness, which can corrode grease, paint, rubber parts, and metals. Therefore, it cannot be used for a long time. It must be drained and cleaned with purified or deionized water within a week. If there are still antifreeze requirements, special antifreeze must be selected.
2. Using specialized antifreeze from a professional brand:
There are two models of antifreeze suitable for laser systems:
① Ethylene glycol water type (industrial products, toxic to humans)
② Propylene glycol water type (food grade, harmless to human body)
Attention: Any antifreeze cannot completely replace deionized water and cannot be used for a long time throughout the year. After winter, it is necessary to clean the pipeline with deionized or purified water, and restore the use of deionized or purified water as a coolant.
In extremely cold climates, the optical components of laser cutting machines are prone to irreparable damage. To ensure the normal operation of the laser cutting machine, please provide timely and on-demand maintenance for the equipment.
