In the daily processing of laser engraving and cutting machines, we often encounter situations where there may be insufficient power at any time, or there may be no light output, short life of the laser tube, irreparable damage to the laser tube, etc. Most of the reasons may be due to inadequate daily maintenance of the laser tube we use, Let's talk about the daily maintenance of laser tubes (lasers) and common solutions to laser tube failures;

The following is an analysis of many years of experience as a processing master in laser engraving and cutting machines:
1、 When using, please connect the cooling water first, adopt the principle of low inlet and high outlet, adjust the position of the outlet pipe, ensure that the cooling water is filled with the cooling pipe, and there is no steam bubbles in the pipe, and then turn on the power supply. Requirements: The cooling water should be soft water (distilled water or purified water), and attention should be paid to the temperature of the cooling water frequently. The water temperature should be controlled within the range of 25 ℃ - 30 ℃, and should not be too high or too low, especially in summer. Once the water temperature is found to be too high, the cooling water should be promptly replaced or shut down for a period of rest. In cold areas, the cooling water should not freeze, especially after the laser is shut down, and the cooling water should not be stored in the laser tube, To prevent the cooling water from freezing and causing cracking. (Special attention: For users using AC power, the cooling water tank must be grounded.).
2、 The two supporting points of the laser tube should be located at a point 1/4 of the total length of the laser tube, ensuring a cooling water flow rate of 2L-4L/minute; Otherwise, the effect is not good, which will cause mode hopping, and the light spot changes several points, resulting in a decrease in power; The cooling water return port in the water tank must be covered with water, otherwise the cooling water in the laser tube will not be fully filled each time the machine is turned off.
3、 Pay attention to protecting the output window of the laser to prevent the smoke generated during operation (including the process of debugging the optical path) from splashing onto the surface of the output window, to prevent the outer surface of the output window from being contaminated and the power will decrease. At this time, you can gently wipe the outer surface of the output window with absorbent cotton or silk cloth dipped in anhydrous alcohol;
4、 During debugging, adjust the laser support point or rotate the laser orientation to achieve the best output effect, and then fix the laser.
5、 Please be careful: avoid dust accumulation near the high-voltage electrode, keep it dry, and keep the high-voltage end as far away from the metal as possible to prevent high-voltage spark discharge.
6、 During the use of the laser, there should be no scale formation in the cooling pipe to avoid blocking the cooling water and worsening the heat dissipation effect. Once found, the cooling pipe can be cleaned with 20% diluted hydrochloric acid to remove scale.
7、 The laser is made of glass and is fragile. Avoid local stress during installation and use.
8、 Rationalize the application of laser tubes and save laser energy. The optimal working current of laser tubes is 16 mA.
Common troubleshooting of laser tubes (What should I do if the laser tube is not powerful enough, cannot be deeply engraved, ignited under high pressure, or ruptured?)
1、 Not deep:
1. "As soon as the light is emitted, it cannot be engraved deeply. First, check whether the supporting point of the laser tube is reasonable, whether the light intensity is set too small, whether the optical path is offset, whether the focal length is correct, whether there are scratches and dirt on the surface of the ytterbium wafer, and whether the flow pressure of the cooling water is normal. If the above items are correct, check whether the lens in the light outlet of the laser tube has scratches and dirt. If they are also normal, it is the quality problem of the laser tube itself.".
2. "It takes a while for the light to shine before it deepens: To solve this problem, first check whether the supporting point of the laser tube is reasonable, whether the water temperature exceeds 30 degrees, whether the lens heats up during operation, whether the flow and pressure of the cooling water are normal, and whether the cooling water is clean. If the above are normal, then check the laser tube;";
2、 High voltage ignition and discharge:
Check whether there is dirt and moisture around the high-pressure head, and whether it is too close to the metal part of the machine; In addition, whether the high-voltage connection device of the laser power supply has fallen off the support, and whether the high-voltage connection device is internally disconnected and damaged. If the above is normal, it is the quality problem of the laser tube itself.
3、 The laser tube is broken, cracked, and the water cooling head falls off:
Whether the water temperature is controlled within the range of 25 ℃ - 30 ℃. In cold areas, the cooling water should not freeze, especially after the laser is shut down, and should not be stored in the laser tube.
2. Whether the luminescence works under the control of water protection; (Test whether the light emission will emit light or not as the water is turned on or off)
3. Is there any phenomenon that the water pipe of the waterway will be broken down.
4. Whether there will be bubbles in the laser tube.
5. Whether the water pressure and flow are normal; Whether the water flow direction is low in and high out.
