An additional benefit of laser cutting for cutting molds is that the cutting edge of the mold will create a shallow hardening layer (heat affected zone), improving the wear resistance of the mold during operation. The non-contact characteristics of metal laser cutting machines bring a stress free advantage to the cutting and forming of circular saw blades, thereby improving their service life.
