Conditions liable to cause laser icing

① The temperature is lower than zero, there is no heating facility, and the laser stops running for a long time

② If the temperature is lower than zero and there are heating facilities, the laser will be shut down for a long time only because of the holidays (such as the Spring Festival)

③ The chiller is placed outdoors

Hazards caused by laser icing

The density of ice is less than that of water. Once the cooling water flowing through the core parts inside the laser is frozen, its volume will expand, which may cause serious damage to the pipeline, thus seriously affecting the safety of the core parts and causing significant losses.

Preventive measures

1. Ensure that the ambient temperature is above 0 ℃, if not, refer to the next article

2. Keep the laser and water cooler on all the time to prevent ice formation due to water flow. If this is not possible, please refer to the next item

3. Drain the water in the water tank of the laser and water cooler, and then try to drain the water in the water cooler pipeline.

4. The antifreeze is used as the coolant. The antifreeze can prevent the coolant from freezing and cracking the laser, water pump and cutting head when the machine is shut down in cold winter.
