How to prevent the machine tool from freezing in winter?

Recently, due to the nationwide wide cooling, in order to prevent the water cooler and pure water cooling unit from being too low in temperature, the water cooling pipeline may freeze, causing damage to the components of the water cooler and pure water cooling unit due to internal expansion, we hereby remind you to do a good job in prevention.
Instructions for winter drainage and antifreeze of water cooler
The weather is getting colder, and the ambient temperature at night in many areas in the north has been lower than 0 ℃. During the transportation of the machine tool, some manufacturers did not completely discharge the water in the water cooler water tank, pipeline, water pump, filter, deionization tank and other parts, causing the residual water to freeze, freezing the pipeline, water pump and filter, causing the machine tool to arrive at the customer's site and cannot be used normally. In order to effectively prevent the water cooler from being shut down for a long time during machine tool debugging or from being damaged by icing during storage and transportation, this letter is hereby issued on the method of winter drainage and antifreeze of the water cooler, and we hope that all production enterprises will attach great importance to it to avoid unnecessary losses.
Anti freezing measures are as follows:
Ensure that the ambient temperature of the refrigerator is above 5 ℃;
Keep the refrigerator on;
Add 30% ethylene glycol antifreeze;
Media prohibited:
Automobile antifreeze, water tank, antifreeze with volume ratio > 30%, etc;
Acetone and other flammable liquids;
Oil and oil-based liquid;
Drugs and food liquids;
Liquid with pH value exceeding 6.5~7.5;
Liquid containing solid particles;
Other liquids corrosive to copper and stainless steel.
If drainage is required due to long-term disuse, please refer to the following steps:
1. Main drainage parts of laser water cooler (including MCWL and TFLW series) and water cooler (MCW series): water tank, pipeline, water pump head, filter, deionization tank (optional);
2. Water tank drainage method: as shown in the figure below, open the drain valve (or drain plug) at the lower part of the water tank to drain the water from the water tank. If necessary, tilt the water cooler to a certain angle to make the drainage cleaner;
3. Drainage in the pipeline: blow compressed air from the inlet and outlet respectively for 1 minute to force the water stored in the pipeline back to the water tank, and drain water from the water tank outlet;
4. Open the water tank cover and observe whether there is residual water in the water tank (for the model whose water tank cover cannot be opened, use compressed air to connect with the water supply port for back blowing to force the residual water in the pipeline and water pump back to the water tank, and then discharge it from the water tank drain port.) If yes, tilt the chiller slightly to drain the water or use a dry towel to absorb the water;
5. Pump head drainage: there is a drain screw at the lower part of each pump head. When the water cooler needs to be shut down or transported for a long time, the pump head drain screw should be opened to drain the water in the pump. It is better to blow the residual water in the pump head with compressed air, and then tighten the drain screw;
6. Drainage of filter and deionization tank: open the drain valve at the bottom of filter and deionization tank or plexiglass shell to drain the residual water. As shown below:
Instructions on water drainage of pure water cooling unit
In order to prevent the residual water inside the pure water cooling unit (including the water cooling unit host and air water heat exchanger) from freezing and damaging the equipment when the temperature is below 0 ° during storage or transportation, the following drainage instructions are made:
[Preparation of tools and tooling]
Compressed air source: 8bar, flow: 0.3m ³/ min
Water container: > 10L
Pipe connecting air source: inner diameter 10mm
Drainage pipe
[Operation Steps and Methods]
Water and air heat exchanger drainage
Open the drain valve of the single piece heat exchanger, block the inlet and outlet flanges, connect the hose from the drain valve, and blow with compressed air. Blow the four pieces of heat exchanger in turn. The blowing time of each piece of heat exchanger is about 15 minutes; (The air blowing time shall be adjusted accordingly after no obvious water drops are blown out at the drain pipe end)
After blowing with compressed air, open all drain valves and exhaust valves and control water for 2 hours;
After the water is controlled for 2 hours, the compressed air is used for re blowing once. The specific operation method is the same as above. The air blowing time is about 5 minutes for a single piece (the air blowing time is subject to no obvious water droplets blowing out at the end of the drain pipe).
Water cooling main machine drainage
Except for resin drain valve V108, all other drain valves are opened for drainage;
Unscrew the FM01 filter and FM03 precision filter with the special wrench for filter to drain water, and clean the filter element of FM01 filter and reinstall it;
Unscrew the drain plugs of make-up water pump and two main circulating water pumps for drainage;
Use compressed air to connect drain valves V115 and V110 (that is, drain valves at the inlet of make-up water pump and main circulating water pump) in turn for air blowing inspection, until no obvious water drops are blown out;
After the drainage is completed, install the water pump drain plug and close all drain valves.
[Drainage requirements]
The corresponding proportion of ethylene glycol shall be added to the air water heat exchanger for circulation and then discharged; The specific steps are as follows:
Adding ethylene glycol: after final commissioning, 50% ethylene glycol shall be added to pure water for final equipment overall pipeline circulation (50% ethylene glycol shall also be added to the resin tank of the host for circulation and then discharged).
Liquid drainage: after the glycol mixed liquid circulates, it is discharged from the pipeline through the drain outlet (the specific operation method is the same as above), and the discharged medium is collected for next use. (Before each use, use the freezing point tester to test the freezing point. The freezing point should reach minus 30 ℃. If not, continue to add ethylene glycol). After the liquid is discharged, it shall be blown with compressed air to prevent the liquid from flowing out of the pipe during transportation.
[Drainage inspection]
Check whether the drain outlet is completely drained, subject to no obvious water drops blown out by air blowing; After checking that there is no water flowing out of the drain valve, close all drain valves and vent valves.
