What materials can metal laser cutting machine cut?

Metal laser cutting machine has the natural advantage of cutting metal. The metal material has poor absorption to the laser beam. The initial absorption rate is only 0.5% - 10%. When the focused laser beam hits the metal surface, it can quickly start melting in a few microseconds. The absorptivity of most metals in the molten state increases sharply, usually by 60% to 80%.
The laser slice laser cutting machine can cut seven kinds of materials.
1. Carbon steel. The thickness of carbon steel plate cut by laser can reach 25 mm, and the gap of carbon steel plate cut by oxidation flux cutting mechanism can be controlled within a satisfactory width range, and the gap of thin plate can be reduced to about 0.1 mm
2. Alloy steel. Most alloy structural steel and alloy tool steel can obtain good trimming quality through laser cutting. When oxygen is used as the treatment gas, the blade will be slightly oxidized. For plates up to 4mm thick, nitrogen can be used as the processing gas for high-pressure cutting. In this case, the cutting edge will not be oxidized.
3. Stainless steel. For the manufacturing industry dominated by stainless steel sheet, laser cutting is an effective processing method. Under the condition of strictly controlling the heat input of laser cutting, the width of the heat affected zone of the trimmed edge can be limited to ensure the good corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
4. Although aluminum alloy has high reflectivity and thermal conductivity, it can still cut thin aluminum materials according to the type of alloy and laser power. When using oxygen, the cutting surface is rough and hard; When using nitrogen, the cutting surface is smooth. Pure aluminum is difficult to cut. Only after the "reflection absorption" device is installed on the system can it be cut, otherwise the reflection will damage the optical components.
5. Copper and its alloys. Higher laser power shall be used for cutting brass (copper alloy), and air or oxygen shall be used for cutting thinner plates. Both pure copper and brass have high reflectivity and excellent thermal conductivity.
6. Titanium and its alloys. Pure titanium can well couple the heat energy generated by focused laser beam conversion. When the auxiliary gas uses oxygen, the chemical reaction is violent and the cutting speed is fast. However, it is easy to form oxide layer at the cutting edge, which may also lead to excessive combustion. Therefore, using air as auxiliary gas can ensure the cutting quality. The titanium alloy laser cutting ball commonly used in the aircraft industry is better. Although there will be some sticky residue at the bottom of the gap, it is easy to remove. Cut titanium plate with nitrogen and nitrogen as treatment gas.
7. Nickel base alloy. Also known as superalloys, there are many varieties. Most can realize the cutting of laser oxidation flux, and the cutting quality is good.
