The laser cutting process of optical fiber laser cutting machine is widely used in our production. Compared with the traditional cutting method, it is more accurate and convenient. It mainly uses high-power laser beam to heat the parts to be cut, and uses instant high-temperature gasification materials to achieve the cutting effect. However, during the cutting process, there will be some molten metal splashes attached to the back of the workpiece. These molten metal splashes are slag.
Optical fiber laser cutting machine will generate a lot of heat when processing sheet metal. Under normal circumstances, the heat generated by cutting will be distributed along the slit to the processed metal plate to obtain sufficient cooling. The fiber laser cutting machine can completely cool the outside of the hole when processing the small hole. However, the small holes inside the single hole have smaller heat dissipation space. And the heat energy is not too concentrated, which will lead to excessive slag. In addition, during thick plate cutting, the heat accumulation caused by the accumulation of molten metal on the material surface and during the perforation process will interfere with the auxiliary air flow and excessive heat input, which will lead to slag suspension.
The occurrence of this situation will seriously affect the accuracy and appearance of the product and easily cause customer dissatisfaction. Many novice operators in the laser industry do not know how to deal with the material slag caused by metal laser cutting machine processing. In fact, the slag produced during laser processing is affected by processing conditions, workpiece materials and material thickness.
How to deal with the slag of optical fiber laser cutting machine?
1. Carbon steel:
If the processing conditions are set properly, slag adhesion will hardly occur. Slag will appear when cutting thick plates, but it is easy to remove.
2. Galvanized steel:
The frequency of slag adhesion is high, and the range of good cutting conditions is narrow. During the application of the primer material, the process of cutting the coating is carried out first. Then perform the method of cutting the substrate.
3. Stainless steel plate:
When the auxiliary gas is oxygen, it is difficult to avoid slag. Moreover, the slag generated is difficult to remove. Non oxidizing laser cutting with nitrogen can significantly reduce the amount of tin slag.
4. Aluminum:
When cutting aluminum, the thicker the steel plate, the more slag will be obtained.
Therefore, when we usually operate the laser cutting machine. We must also work according to the characteristics of these materials. And the correct operation can make the processing effect better!
